Let’s face it—marketing is like a professional pickpocket. One moment, you’re just browsing, and the next, you’re convinced you need that bag, dress, or pair of shoes you barely glanced at. We’re only human, after all. The good news? I’ve found a way to keep up with all those irresistible temptations without breaking the bank: reselling—a hobby I started decades ago.

Back in my university days, before smartphones, taking photos meant dragging out my trusty Polaroid camera and scanner. Yes, I was that determined! I’d photograph wardrobe treasures, list them online, and resell them to fund my next aesthetic obsession. Yahoo Auctions was my playground, and recycling fashion became second nature long before it was trendy.
For me, it’s simple: I treat my clothes like royalty—wear them carefully (but not too carefully) and keep them in great condition. Credit where it’s due—my father, a tailor, taught me the magic of stain removal on tailor-made gentlemen’s shirts. Thanks to that, my wardrobe holds its value (and sometimes even its charm). When it’s time to part ways, each piece finds a new home, and I get funds for my next wardrobe adventure. It’s like renting my wardrobe… but smarter.

Over 20 years later, I’m still at it—though now it’s Vinted and eBay instead of Polaroids and Yahoo Auctions. It’s not just about the money; it’s about the thrill of giving a great piece a second life. Fun fact: this hobby even introduced me to the founder of my current job! We met while buying each other’s preloved clothes—proof that fashion doesn’t just connect us to trends; it connects us to people.
So, here I am, still finding joy in reselling, still dodging marketing tricks (well, most of the time), and still believing that every item has a story worth telling. Now, excuse me while I check out that “vintage” bag calling my name online.
